REPRODUCTION. This is a Fast Idle Valve (FIV) replacement. This is also called the choke heater assembly. This part is installed on the throttle body and controls the air bypass. This part usually requires replacement when the the idle RPM does not decrease in a reasonable amount of time (by about 5 minutes depending on temperature). This part is an improvement over the originals and allow your car to move from fast idle to normal idle in a reasonable amount of time. The external switch and mechanical arm have been removed and instead an internal temperature sensor monitors the actuator temperature and adjusts the heating accordingly. Heating is only applied when the temperature probe signals the need.

This part now includes a 2 Amp fused harness with TB D-Shaped grommet and PA12 professionally 3D printed connector. This can use the original OEM connector, however these are polarity specific and can damage this part if installed improperly. We recommend using the new replacement wiring harness which is protected by a 2 Amp fuse. The blue wire is positive, and the black wire is negative. Please verify polarity prior to installing.

The housing is made from glass filled nylon with machined solid brass heat sinks. The o-rings are suitable for use with both gasoline and ethanol added gasoline. This part is considered an upgrade of the original to provide a durable and reliable replacement part.

DURING INSTALLATION there is a designation for positive (+) or negative (-) terminals on switch. The terminal closest to the "clocking tab" is the positive. The terminal parallel with the pin sticking out is negative. Failure to use the correct plugs during installtion can result in damaging the new switch so that it is no longer operable.
